We travel more than ever, and the possibilities for enjoying a charming, culturally rich getaway are endless. You don’t always have to go far or spend much to discover places steeped in history.

Today we suggest an irresistible plan: a weekend in Arab Granada, following a route that blends history, culture, and relaxation. Ready to join us?

We start in the historic center, next to the Cathedral, visiting the Madraza Palace, Granada’s first Islamic university. Built in the 14th century under the reign of Yusif I, it offered advanced Quranic studies. Today, it belongs to the University of Granada and hosts various cultural events.

Just steps away, between the Cathedral and Reyes Católicos Street, lies La Alcaicería, the former Great Bazaar of Nasrid silk. Once stretching to Plaza Bib-Rambla, these narrow streets are now lined with shops selling Arabic-inspired crafts and souvenirs.

Continuing along Reyes Católicos Street, we find the Corral del Carbón. This former Arab grain warehouse and lodging for merchants is the only fully preserved building of its kind in Spain and is listed as a Cultural Heritage Site.

Our route takes us to the Albaicín, with its narrow, winding streets. Here you’ll find historic cisterns, once vital for supplying water to homes and for ritual ablutions before prayer.

We descend to Carrera del Darro, known as Paseo de los Tristes. Along the riverside stands El Bañuelo, 11th-century Arab baths declared a Cultural Heritage Site. It preserves original columns, capitals, and star-shaped skylights in its vaulted ceilings.

No journey through Arab Granada is complete without visiting the Alhambra and the Generalife. Whether by day or night, their beauty is so captivating it always invites a return.

To end this experience, nothing beats a traditional Arab bath. From Carrera del Darro, cross the bridge to Santa Ana Street and arrive at Hammam Al Ándalus Granada. In this idyllic setting, you can unwind and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the most authentic Granada.

We travel more than ever, and the possibilities for enjoying a charming, culturally rich getaway are endless.
